Decision making process should be a familiar technique, a technique that you know and have learned to master in what ever the circumstance in life.  With important decisions, making a choice consciously, after considering the options, with consideration for the consequences that do follow in many ways in the future. Another way to look at it , it is like choosing your your future and destiny before it happens.

The more familiar you are with the issue that is of concern and needs to have a decision made, the more easy it is to be selective.  Knowledge, familiarity and competence makes it a matter for selection, rather than pondering and wondering what do do next.  Some issues are not that clear cut, there may be unknowns, confusion,  and lack of information which to base the decision on, because without information, the decision becomes more like a wild guess, luck or a gamble.

Another approach to problem solving is to avoid difficult circumstance’s altogether

This method can be effective, because by going blindly into an unknown situations without a plan and a clear intention, an ordinary day may slide into a quagmire of problems and a head ache.  Maybe the issue is a parking ticket for example, without a conscious plan ahead of time and consideration for the consequence of parking in the wrong place, there is a real chance of getting a ticket on the window, and that is a head ache for most people.  The head ache may be the knowledge of the shopping mall trip, and the purpose of the trip was to make a purchase of and item with a limited budget for the week, but the parking ticket ended up costing more than the item of interest, duh, it makes no sense.

Decision making process can become more easy once it becomes a familiar though pattern to consider, to think twice before jumping into a situation that can create more negative consequences than the issues is  worth in the first place. Another example would be driving without really being conscious of the surroundings, not paying attention to the traffic, and then it suddenly happens, crunch!
