New DJI Phantom 2 vision has a built-in Wi-Fi HD video camera.
Using the free DJI Vision app on their iOS or Android mobile device, users of the Vision can view live output from its camera as the DJI Phantom is in flight, teh camera can be remotely controlled, pre-set to take pictures at pre set intervals, start and stop video recording. The new DJI Phantom also has additional features such as the application that allows to monitor aircraft parameters such as altitude, location, and battery charge level.

The DJI Phantom vision 2 battery has also been beefed up, to a improved 5,200-mAh lithium-polymer battery that sits on a slide carrier, it has a built-in on/off switch, and the flight time is now extended to 25 minutes, from the previous model of 15 minutes.

Dji phantom vision 2 quad-copter comes with a two way gimbal and a dji vision 2 camera as standard. It is not the Zenmuse upgrade version H3-2D gimbal which is used with the GoPro cameras to capture New Dimensions.

its just a shame it can’t be fully utilised outside the US due to the
camera being locked at 30fps!! Meaning it cannot be fully edited into PAL
produced material without frame skipping. Come on DJI, its not just the US
buying these things!

Hello, I’ve just purchased a Phantom Galaxy Ace Plus with Gingerbread
2.3.6. It would be disappointing if I had to buy another phone to run the

Everything is great about the vision, unfortunately DJI once saved in the
wrong corner and this is the camera mount Which is just not as good as a
gimbal. That would DJI Supposed to stand out. Sad. And why did not the
camera have a FPV connection? Questions over questions….
I hear the control frequency is the same as most people use for FPV on
serious rigs, is this true?
And some sound signaling ability. =) But how about dust/water protective
hul?
You expect people to take this on holiday to the beach, yeah I can imagine
doing that, not. Think it’s something I’d use for 30minutes and then it
would be gathering dust in the shed.

will I be able to get my tarot gimbal on it with pitch control?
Are the apps compatible with tablets? Say if someone wanted to use a Nexus
7 for a bit larger screen. Obviously without the mount.

Latency is a miniscule 0.1 seconds, so never notice it when you fly.

up spending more if you bought a Phantom then added equivalent downlink,
camera, battery and monitor yourself.

Your lens is not better than the 2.7K quality of gopro. @ 2.7K frame you
can push in and keep image quality far beyond what you are pitching. Super
disappointed. Already have the 1 and will not upgrade.

resolutions/fps than 1080/30 :/ not really that much of a loss on your end
though as I ended up just getting the Phantom version 1.1.1. Can’t wait!

How about the fps of the camera ? Are 60 or 120 fps available ? Is the
gimball the same as your gimball for the Gopro ?
Don’t write off our camera till you’ve seen what it can do! It’s got a
better lens than GoPro cameras, shoots comparable quality video and even
takes 14MP RAW photos, which the GoPro can’t do.
Is there going to be a Phantom 2 with all of the new updates, except for
the camera of course, so we can use our GoPro? 🙂

You could have setup a cheaper brushless gimbal like the Tarot which works
excellent just watch my videos with the Phantom Shame

The Phantom 2 Vision is definitely an improvement on the Phantom. It’s
easier to fly, hovers more steadily, goes for much longer and more. We
created it as an all-in-one aerial photography system so it will not fit a
GoPro or a gimbal.
Our new camera is comparable to GoPro in terms of video quality and knocks
it out the water as a stills camera, since it has a better lens and shoots
14MP RAW images.
The camera will shoot 1080p at 30fps and 1080i at 60fps. Bear in mind
though that the Phantom 2 Vision is a consumer level product created for
professional quality aerial photography not video. It has FPV, shoots 14MP
RAW photos and has anti-vibration damping with single axis stabilization
for easier photo shooting and framing. It won’t replace a Phantom with
Zenmuse gimbal however.
can it shoot video in up to 4k?
The camera shoots 1080p at 30fps and 1080i at 60fps, and the Phantom 2
Vision can definitely fly for 25 minutes, we’ll be posting a video soon.
Bear in mind though, the Phantom 2 Vision is designed to be quality aerial

The Phantom 2 Vision was designed for photography, not professional video.
Still, we know people want to shoot both which is why we built it with
vibration dampening – no jello and single axis stabilization. In high
winds, footage won’t be as smooth as if you were using a gimbal but in the
right situations you’d never notice the difference.
The Phantom 2 Vision was created as a consumer aerial photography system
that makes shooting from the sky easy for everyone. In terms of video, it
shoots high quality and jello free footage, with single axis stabilization,
straight out the box but it was not designed for professional aerial video.
Our camera has two frame rate options, 1080p at 30fps and 1080i at 60fps.
I posted above but I’ll say it here too. 25 minutes is no joke! We’ll post
a video of a full 25 minute non stop flight here soon so you can see for
yourself.

If you arent flying a DSLR or cinema camera it, then it is hobby grade
equipment.

I’m a videographer by trade too, and I got into aerial for a new
perspective, and I would encourage you to maybe try the XP2 with XPG
gimbal. It’s a lot more expensive, but man, this thing is solid, and flys
so much better. Check out my “Aerial Video” playlist, and in every video
there is a link in the description to the quad I’m using. There are many
issues with the 1st gen phantom – like fly-aways and jello.

Vince, I just checked the specs again on the B&H site, and the camera does
1080p30, or 1080i60. The “i” stands for interlaced, which is what regular
video tape records at. You will not be able to slow this down to 50% speed
without it being jerky. also the “gimbal” is not a stabilization device
like the Zenmuse. This gimbal is just for aiming down, but every bump from
the quad will be recorded. I don’t know whay they did this. See if you can
skip the camera and use a GoPro/Zenmuse.
